Jasmine Wattar

Jasmine Wattar is a Syrian American writer/actor from a small farm town, where she grew up with a pet turkey, SweetPete. Spoiler: he wasn’t sweet and often attacked her. Jasmine was selected for the 25′ WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY ACCESS WRITERS PROGRAM cohort, studied TV writing under the mentorship of acclaimed writer/director BEN FALCONE (Thunder Force), advanced scene work with SEINFELD‘S JASON ALEXANDER, and produced films like THINGS THAT HAUNT US (Amazon Prime). Notably, she snagged three consecutive BEST FILM wins in the HA 48 HR Film Festival for her oddball comedies inspired by audience suggestions, proving to her Syrian ancestors improv is, in fact, cool.

A passionate advocate for diversity/disability representation, Jasmine received the SNL AWARD, NBCUniversal WRITING SCHOLARSHIP, and her feature script Luchador was recognized as an INEVITABLE FOUNDATION ACCELERATE FELLOWSHIP semi-finalist. As a queer, mixed-race gal with Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease, her work explores resilience, reflecting the beauty, messiness, and hope in each of us as we navigate life and its obstacles. Jasmine’s hidden talent: solving escape rooms and puzzles (often winning cash prizes). She’s sneaky, full of grit, and will win Clue.
