LA AUDITIONS NOW OPEN
Betty Teams are UCB’s character teams (formerly Characters Welcome). 8-10 performers are selected from an audition to develop 3-5 minute character pieces to be showcased at the monthly show.
Betty Night runs about an hour and consists of brand new material written specifically for Betty Night.
Auditions for Betty Night occur annually. Betty Teams are expected to put up shows featuring polished, funny, UCB-style, game-based characters. Every Betty Team member is expected to boldly bring their unique voice and sense of humor to shows. Eligibility for performers will be announced during the next round of auditions.
Betty Performer Requirements: You must have completed or be enrolled in a Character 101 class or have completed any two performance-based UCB courses (Improv, Character, Storytelling), all before the submission process closes.
All current and former Harold, Lloyd, Maude, and Characters Welcome at UCBTLA or UCBTNY are eligible to submit as a writer or performer.

Sketch comedy teams with six writers and six performers.
IDEAL FOR
Writers and performers passionate about sketch comedy, looking to create and perform new material monthly.
REQUIREMENTS
Performer: Character 101 or any two performance-based UCB courses; Writer: Sketch 201.

Improv Comedy / Harold Team
Long-form improv team performing “the HAROLD”
IDEAL FOR
Aspiring improvisers looking to master long-form improv and perform regularly on stage.
REQUIREMENTS
Completion of UCB’s Improv 401 and having taken a course/workshop/rep camp within the past year (LA) or two years (NY).

IMPROV COMEDY / LLOYD TEAM
Junior varsity counterpart to Harold Teams focusing on improv.
IDEAL FOR
Emerging talent in improv seeking to develop their skills and gain performance experience.
REQUIREMENTS
Completion of UCB’s Improv 401 and having taken a course/workshop/rep camp within the past year (LA) or two years (NY).
