A solo show from Laurie Magers about the time she dated a guy in prison.

Coming off a critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festival run, Do You Accept These Charges? is coming back to LA for a one-time-only encore performance!

This is a true, narrative solo comedy show written and performed by Laurie Magers. It details her real life relationship with an incarcerated violent multi-felon whom she met while he was on parole, and continued to date after he was re-imprisoned. Through a multimedia mix of storytelling and theater, she takes the audience through the story of their relationship, pre- and post-lock up, while letting the audience in on the background of how and why she ended up there. Over the course of the hour, she describes the shocking details of what exactly happened during this relationship, including of her boyfriend’s abhorrent charges were (there are more than one and they’re very very bad), and the lengths she went to in order to accept them and explain it all away. It explores themes of love addiction, abuse, sexuality, and the complexities of the American prison system, but don’t worry, it’s hilarious.
